History
In 1990, Michael and Marilyn Stopka founded Design Toscano after being inspired by the beauty of Europe on a trip to Paris. While visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, they were awe-struck by the carvings of gargoyles and water spouts and decided to bring their Medieval-inspired designs to America in 1993. On a subsequent trip to Albi, France, they saw Jacquard tapestries and added them to their business’s catalog.
Over the years, the Design Toscano product line has grown to include a plethora of pieces from different periods, such as Egyptian art, garden fountains, statuary, Asian replicas, and antique reproductions. These have become widely popular among customers.
