Establishment
Hindustan Unilever Limited established in 1933. HUL offered 10% of its equity share to the Indian public. Unilever now holds 67.25% equity in the company and the rest to the individual shareholders and financial institutions. In 1994, HUL formed 50-50 joint ventures with the US based Kimberly Clark Corporation. In 2003, HUL acquired the Cooked Shrimp and Pasteurized crabmeat business of the Amalgam Group of companies. On 17 October 2013, HUL completed 80 years of corporate existence in India.
In 2018, HUL signed an agreement with Vijaykant dairy and Food products limited and its group company to acquire its ice cream and frozen deserts business consisting of its flagship brand ‘Adityaa Milk’ and front-end distribution network cross geographies.
