History
The godrej group established on 1897. In 1918, the company launch Chavi, the first soap in the world to be made without animal fat. Godrej launch furniture products in 1923. In 1952, the company launched new product name ‘Cinthol’. In 1997, Godrej celebrates 100th birthday. The company open a FMCG name Godrej Nature’s Basket in 2005. India’s foremost retail destination for fine foods from across the world.
In 2010, godrej create more employable Indian workforce, build a greener India, and innovate for ‘good’ and ‘green’ products. Founder
The Godrej Group founded by two brothers Ardeshir Godrej and Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej. They were born in a wealthy Parsi-Zoroastrian family.
Ardeshir Godrej was born on 1868 at Mumbai. He was an Indian businessman and graduated in law. He married to Bachu. Ardeshir founded The Godrej group from a very single unit. He died in 1936. Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej was born on 1882 at Mumbai and did study from Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, Mumbai. He married to Soonabai and blessed with three sons and a daughter. Pirojsha died in 1972. After him Adi Godrej takeover the company and currently serving as chairman.
