Hindalco Industries Limited established in 1958. In 1958 and started its operations at Renukoot, Uttar Pradesh. In 1967, the company set up a thermal power plant at Renusagar. Hindalco attained its leadership position in the aluminium industry under the dynamic leadership of the late Aditya Vikram Birla — a formidable force in the Indian industry.
