ABOUT
Amit Jain was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He has a brother Anurag who is also the Co-founder of CarDekho. His father was an astrologer and also had a side business of gemstones. His mother was a house wife. His education background sums-up between the boundaries of Jaipur to Delhi.
Amit has completed his Bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology. He got married to Pihu Jain who is vice president of Girnar Software Pvt. Ltd. and has twin kids.
THE JOURNEY
In 2000, he was working in a software company but then the major setback of his life happened when his father was suffering from illness. So, Amit and his brother shifted back to Jaipur in the year 2006, to look after his father and after sometimes his father passed away. He always got this business mind and has a positive attitude towards the aspects of the life. He joined the business of Gemstones which was left by his father. Just like every entrepreneur Amit was looking for something creative which proves to be fruitful. Before the establishment of CarDekho, both the brothers started a software firm which is known to be Girnar Softrware Pvt. Ltd.
THE BORN OF CarDekho
It was year 2008 when Amit and his brother got a chance to attend an Auto-expo event which was held in Delhi. Just like every entrepreneur his big brain kicked in and decided to make a company which will deal with the right and unbiased information regarding to the cars and there dealing where the users will be able to access all the parameters of an automobile. To buy or sell a car is a hectic job and that’s where CarDekho plays an important role by giving all the necessary information with the right comparison of the price of the cars.
But in order to rise you have to fall first. Eventually in 2009, the company went in the loss of Rs. 1 crore in the stocks leaving them with no money. The debts and payment of employees were pending.Amit and his brother didn’t give up. They both learned from their past mistakes and invested again in the company with the right mind and the right techniques.
In 2013, when the company received some funding from an American based, Sequioa Capital company.After the funding the fate of the company took large turns in 2015 and the venture started to grow rapidly and went onto becoming a company having a valuation of $1.2 billion.

Every entrepreneur have some qualities that helps them to reach such level where Amit and his brother standing right now. His drive towards the work and his out of box thinking gave him the success. His company have small ventures under the group such as bikedekho, collegedekho etc. There network also reaches the routes of Indonesia and thriving to becoming a large force in car financing industry.
