Larry was determined to pursue his dream of creating an auto service center focused on exceptional customer service. In 1990, he opened the first Brakes Plus outlet in Englewood, CO, and the innovative concept was an instant hit. People were drawn to the company’s dedication to “people over profit” values and the enjoyable atmosphere it provided for both customers and employees.

In Englewood, CO, Larry opened the first Brakes Plus location in May 1990.
1995
Dean and Mark, the sons of Larry, initiated an expansion program throughout Colorado upon their joining of the company.
1998
Brakes Plus has acquired and rebranded 15 Westem Auto locations, increasing their store count to 20 across two states and now also covering Wyoming.
2000
As the Pisciotta family business expands into its third state, Arizona, their third son RJ joins in on their tremendous growth.
2007
Brakes Plus has extended its services to Texas, with stores established in Plano and Carrollton.
2008
The 50th location launches on June 28, 2008 in Denver.
2017
In 2017, Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers bought Brakes Plus, so they could keep providing great service and also foster quicker advancement of the Brakes Plus name!
2018
Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers and Brakes Plus merge with Mavis Discount Tire to form one of the largest automotive maintenance providers in the United States.
