Establishment
In 1945, Bajaj Auto started manufactured automobiles in India. After, the company introduced the Pulsar range of bikes, that revolutionized the two-wheeler market in India. The legacy of Auto Rickshaws have been soaring heights and display unparalleled market dominance across any automobile segment. In 2007, Bajaj Auto acquired a 14% stake in KTM that has since grown to 48%.
On November 2014, the company celebrated 125th Birth Anniversary of Shri. Jamnalal Bajaj. The company has also led the pioneering introduction of India’s first ever Quadricycle – Qute. Bajaj Auto exports to 70+ countries and a significant share of revenues come from Exports.
Founder
Bajaj Auto Limited founded by Jamnalal Bajaj, an Indian industrialist. He was born on 1889 at Rajasthan. He was belonged to Marwari family and third son of Kaniram and Birdibai. Bajaj was intelligent at an early age and acquired the skills of tradesman, rigorous book keeping and buying and selling commodities. He followed Mahatma Gandhi views. In 1926, he founded Bajaj group of Industries. Besides Bajaj Auto Limited, he also founded Mukand ltd., Bajaj Electricals Ltd., and Bajaj Hindusthan Limited.
Bajaj married to Janaki Devi Bajaj and blessed with five children, Kamlabai, Kamalnayan Bajaj, Uma, Ramkrishna, Madalsa. On 1942, he died. Recently, the company Chairman is Rahul Bajaj.
